ISACA® is committed to improving gender diversity in the technology field. To support this initiative, ISACA has continued to evolve its SheLeadsTech program since its inception in 2017. ISACA members have participated in SheLeadsTech advocacy efforts, attended chapter and global events, and participated in the SheLeadsTech Engage online forum, one of the most robust Engage communities with more than 1,300 participants. In 2021, the objective of SheLeadsTech is undergoing a transformation from inspiration and awareness to action.
SheLeadsTech is now a part of ISACA Foundation. ISACA Foundation is investing in the infrastructure of the SheLeadsTech program so that more women and men can contribute to elevating women in the tech field. The resources, networking, mentorship, advocacy, educational events and other services SheLeadsTech is developing will help empower women to lead in technology careers.
Additionally, ISACA Foundation is building a Corporate Diversity Advocacy program to ensure that change is systemic. Research has shown that diversity impacts the bottom line. Organizations with more diverse leadership and management teams have higher revenues and are more innovative. Many enterprises are beginning to recognize the benefits of diversity and are responding with operational changes, restructuring, recruiting and training.
There will be opportunities to contribute as a speaker, writer, mentor and leader within SheLeadsTech throughout 2021. All current initiatives are being expanded and new opportunities are under development. Until then, the following are some ways to stay engaged:
